Omnia Making Waves Before Even Opening

Omnia San Diego & Las Vegas

The Hakkasan Group has had no shortage of success in the restaurant and nightlife industry already, having several of the hottest locations in Las Vegas in Hakkasan nightclub and Wet Republic.

When they announced two new properties, people got excited. Both nightclub locations will carry the same name: Omnia. One will sure to be among the hottest nightlife spots in San Diego and the other will join the ranks of the top venues in Las Vegas.

The excitement reached new levels, however, as both Omnia locations announced their perspective lineups once they open.

The Las Vegas location will feature an all star lineup including the likes of Nicky Romero, Armin Van Buuren, Chucki, Afrojack, and Martin Garrix.

A lineup like this is sure to put Caesar’s Palace right at the top of the nightlife scene in Vegas, and give MGM Grand a run for its money – where Hakkasan, with residing DJ Calvin Harris, is always packed. But if you’re going to be competing with other clubs, you might as well own the competition.

Omnia San Diego & Las VegasWhile the Vegas location seems to have an impressive lineup, the San Diego location of Omnia Nightclub announced its own lineup that is nothing to scoff at.

It will instantly become the hottest spot in the Gaslamp District of San Diego – replacing old time favorite Stingaree – when it’s doors open. Already on the schedule at this location are The Chainsmokers, Above & Beyond, Steve Aoki, and more.

Whether you are in Las Vegas or in San Diego, if you’re a fan of electronic music, nightclubs, and partying, you have a lot to forward to when Omnia opens this spring.

Mashups That Would Have Hit The Top Of The Charts If They Were Real Singles

We often look at musical hits as masterpieces. No way they can get any better. But the truth is, they can….when you combine with other musical masterpieces.

It doesn’t always work. But when it comes together, the result is absolutely glorious.

Here are # of our favorite mashups:

Whole Lotta Sabbath

It’s absolutely amazing how well Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love” and Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” come together. If the two bands actually collaborated and created this as a single, it would likely go down as one of the greatest, most genius songs ever released:

What do you get when you combine indie rock gods Radiohead with rap legend Jay-Z? You get a perfect combination that enabled one producer to create an entire album titled, aptly, “Jaydiohead.”

The whole album is great, but we will feature just the lead-in song here, “Wrong Prayer”:

Rock in Black

This one is more than two songs coming together. It’s a whole medley spun by a DJ that comes together like a well-balanced meal…a very high energy meal. And the ingredients include:

Outkast – Mrs Jackson
Queen – We Will Rock You
AC/DC – Back in Black
Black Sabbath – War Pigs
Led Zeppelin – Black Dog
Prince – Let’s Go Crazy
Crowded House – Always take the weather
The Beatles – A Day in the Life
The Snopp Dogg ft. Dr.Dre – The Next Episode

Staying Alive in the Wall

Take a dark song about oppression and mix it with one of the most iconic disco hits of the 70s, and you get a result that works much better than it should. Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall (Part II)” and The BeeGee’s “Staying Alive” combine to form this track:

Take Me on the Crazy Train

Ok, so this one is more amusing than it is great. But it’s fun to listen to anyway. This mashup of Ozzy and A-ha shows you what it would sound like if Ozzy was an 80s pop star rather than the metal god that he actually is:
